Independence! Independence mean so many things in different ways to each and every person! For some it is finally going on a Solo Trip after planning it and thinking about doing it, for a million times! For some it might be starting up a job that they love doing, that which they breathe as passion! For few of them their voices to be heard! And for most of us Independence is sense of freedom from the things that we have always feared of doing, or just taking a small step towards justice!
Well this is about now that we speak! But back then when India was young, it had fierce young heroes and leaders full of valour who dreamed about one thing collectively – Independence for India! Freedom from British Rule and from playing the role of largest volunteer during Second World War to paving on the way to calling INDIA a Free Independent Nation. For them India was not just a place or a land to live but it was their Mother! Their passion, their meaning to live and reason to even die for! India, after centuries of Fight, war and a countless sacrifice of its sons’ and daughters breathe its Independence on AUGUST 15th 1947!
And ever since then in respect, remembrance and honour of such great leaders, iconic HEROES and our Indian army of brave men and women who have been till today fighting many unknown wars wading away the threats, so the common people of INDIA functions, lives and sleeps at peace and mainly of their only determination to keep INDIA protected, in most respectable tradition, hoist the Prestigious INDIAN FLAG all over India, and also different parts of world.
The speciality of The National Flag of India is, it has three colours –
The top band is of Saffron colour, indicating the strength and courage of the country.
The white middle band indicates peace and truth with Dharma Chakra.
The last band is green in colour shows the fertility, growth and auspiciousness of the land.
It is also a clear statement of honouring that it bore no communal significance and was to be interpreted thus. Portraying that the colours of Indian Flag and essence of India lies in its unity in diversity!
And to celebrate this signifying essence of Indian National Flag, we at THE UNCOMMONBOX had a run of best photo competition and asked our Indian Uncommoners to show what Independence Day felt like to them through their pictures which had all three colours of Indian National Flag.
