What Makes Us So Uncommon ?
Let Us Find Out!!
But First, A Little Bit About Our Great Nation!
India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a diversity and rich cultural heritage that is unparalleled in the world. This great country is the inventor of the zero, all major scientific discoveries are credited to India, long before the world even got a whiff of them. As the 7th largest country in the world, India stands apart from the rest of Asia, guarded by mountains and the sea, which gives the country a unique geographical identity. It has achieved all-round socio-economic progress during the last 72 years of its Independence. India remains one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world. Apart from its many religions and sects, India is home to innumerable castes and tribes. India is now one of the top industrialized countries in the world and one of the few nations to have conquered the last frontier known to man, space.
This 15th August India will mark its 72nd Independence Day.
This day holds a special significance for all Indians as it is a day to remember the sacrifices of the people who fought hard, giving up their lives for the freedom of their motherland.
It is day when we pledge to protect the unity and integrity of our country. It is celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm, with parades, the hoisting of the National flag across the country. The Prime minister greets the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort in New Delhi.
It is also the day on which to reflect on our progress, our achievements as a nation.
We, here on The Uncommon Box, salute this great nation of ours, to whom we owe our identity as citizens of one of the oldest civilizations in the world, the cradle of mankind and wisdom, on the occasion of Independence Day.
We strive to uphold the values, integrity of the freedom of expression that our nation as the world’s biggest democracy stands for.
On a lighter and soul searching note, we know that the Americans are known for their swashbuckling bravado, the Japanese for their cunning and ingenuity, the Brazilians for their gaiety and fun loving attitude and we Indians are known for our hospitality, reverence to nature and tolerance for all religions and viewpoints, but what else ?
Team TUB in this article, would like to highlight some intriguing facets of our country and its people, their uncommonness in adapting to life among other things, for example our world famous Jugaad philosophy!!
Jugaad is a “hack.” It could also refer to an innovative fix or a solution that bends the rules, or a resource that can be used in such an innovative way. It is also often used to signify creativity, to make existing things work, or to create new things with meagre resources.
“Umeed Pe Duniya Kayam Hai Aur India Ki Umeed Jugaad Pe.”
We know this to be true, don’t we? We do the best jugaads ever and also take pride in it. Innovation is a hallmark of excellence and we are masters in this field.
We follow the unconventional, the uncommon way of doing things. It’s about being different from the rest and that is what makes us who we are!
But then the question remains that how more are we different, uncommon from the whole world?
Want to know the good, the bad, the ugly of being an Indian in today’s world?!
