India in Black sets itself apart from conventional photo communities by single mindedly pursuing the cause of Insta social responsibility by organising photowalks with a social cause attached to it.In this regard, 12th November 2017 will be a day to be remembered as three highly popular online communities namely – India in Black ,The Uncommon Box and Halla.in came together to collaborate on unique photowalk to commemorate Children’s Day! Team TUB collaborated with these two communities specifically in Delhi and Mumbai.
The Uncommon Box believes in promoting social causes as well as the passion of artistes, and that is why Team Uncommon Box joined this special walk, marking this special occasion
A large number of photography enthusiasts stepped out with their cameras and gathered at a designated location to click pictures, socialize, discuss, learn, make new friends and participate in the contest.
This photo walk was special for team TUB as it was its the first Insta Social Responsibility walk, and doing it for Children’s Day made it even more memorable. Predictably, it turned out to be a great success!
Over 40+ enthusiasts participated in Mumbai and 40+ in Delhi. In both the cities, highly energetic and lively groups participated, playing and having fun with the children. It made the children happy and also brought smiles to the faces of the elders around. Many of them expressed their affection by distributing gifts, biscuits and confectionery to the children and talking to them about Children’s Day. Some amazing frames were captured through the photo walk, but nothing is more satisfying compared to the joy and happiness shared with the children.
The initiative was to bring smiles and laughter and do something kind. The participants left no stone unturned in doing so.
A photo walk with three thriving online communities cannot be complete without a contest. A special hashtag #IIBTUB and #indiainblack_childrensday was used on the posts as part of the contest. We received an overwhelming response to the contest with amazing posts.
We are happy and proud to have collaborated with @indiainblack as our walking partners along with NGOs Umeed and Naad Navarang and @halla_photo_contests as our gifting partner for this event.
About our Collaborators:
India in Black
India in Black which started as a feature page, gradually transformed into People’s Page in the true sense. It is not just a platform for aspiring photographers to share their art and capability, but Team #Indiainblack believes in the Power of Visuals. Visuals have the power to communicate the most complicated message in the simplest way possible.
To utilize this power of visuals, their team organizes photo walks with social agendas, popularly known as #socialphotowalks. These walks attempt to capture the message which hitherto gets neglected by regular captures, the stories behind the scenes. The walks are broadly designed to address the themes of education, health and sanitation, financial stability and social inclusion. These walks are not just a medium to capture photographs but also to spread awareness on particular issues.
With the same goal in mind, they collaborated with us and Halla Photo contest to organize the Children’s day special photowalk.
It was an attempt to celebrate the spirit of childhood, an attempt to nourish their dreams. They conducted the same event in other cities as well. People from 10 cities came together to spend time with kids. They distributed stationery and other necessary items. Not just this, they shared laughter with them. The cities were: Delhi, Mumbai, Gangtok, Gwalior, Bengaluru, Rajkot , Ahmedabad, Pune, Hubli, Rourkela and Aligarh.
These walks were not just a result of participation by the IIB team but it was a result of multiple collaborations across the city. Numerous associations, communities, NGOs collaborated with India In Black and supported their cause. These were @fhotosthatspeak (mumbai), @asia_photo_magazine (Gwalior), along with AKG as gifting partner, @tejaswinifoundation NGO, @igersofbangalore (bengaluru), walk in Aligarh was supported by Soch NGO, @streets.of.rourkela (rourkela), @hubli_dharwad_mandi_nav_hinga hubli (hubli), Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology also came forward to help us to carry our walk in sikkim, @pune_ig, @pune_streets, @FCRajkot.
