The bruises she had suffered umpteenth number of times,
Speaks of a thousand truths; speaks of horrendous crimes.
A Salute to Her!!
She had carried all the marks on her face,
Gathering her shattered pieces she walked with dignity and grace.
A Salute to Her!!
The Red Henna that she had once smeared on her hands,
Wavered her poise and caused in her the turbulence.
A Salute to Her!!
Hiding oodles of water she silently cries,
With audacity in her voice and vigour in her eyes,
She walks and walks,
But halts in memories of those,
Who sacrificed them for her honour and freedom.
With pride in her heart and immense love for her children,
Steadfast, she walks,
Head High she walks,
Unfettered she walks and walks till eternity.
