Every person has his/her own distinctive style. I might not have a style but I love capturing the simplest of simplest human emotions and happy moments in the people around me! I am a fan of bright and colourful photos. My Instagram profile is full of colourful pictures and hues. You’ll rarely find a monochrome picture there!!!
If anything defines the inspiring Uncommon photographer Trishita Bhattacharya, it is this set of words. This quote truly reflects her belief penned on her Instagram profile itself- ‘Thoughts become things’.
Add this profundity to the statistics on the Instagram profile of our inspiring Uncommon photographer- whether it be her follower count or the average number of likes on her posts, which will get jaw-dropping open-mouthed reactions from most!
To interact with an artist who combines success and talent is always a pleasure and it is the extreme delight of The Uncommon Box to present the ever effervescent and undeniably inspiring Trishita Bhattacharya.
The journey that began 4 years ago with a Micromax phone camera, now is the stuff of urban Instagram legend! We caught up with Her Delightful Highness- and listened to her story!
How the story began
Trishita reminisces –
I got my first smartphone after Class 12th. I used to click random pictures with it. In 2014, my dad bought our first DSLR. It was supposed to be used by my sister who was a media student back then but I showed more interest in it. That’s where my photography journey started.
Life, I guess, is like that- insignificant moments become life-changing moments, which define your journey.
It’s always good to escape the city life and take a trip to the mountains! Clicked during a recent trip to Spiti Valley Himachal Pradesh using my OnePlus 3T.
And then the voyage has been, as Trishita puts it, ‘amazing’.
The wise have always observed that when one realizes that the journey becomes more meaningful than the destination, one has truly arrived.
She echoes a similar sentiment in these words:
I have met so many like-minded people through Instagram who understands the craft really well. They have helped me in my journey and inspired me throughout. I constantly keep on creating content and sharing it on my social media sites so that my followers who have become more like friends can see and enjoy it 🙂
As candid as it could get. Went to watch the sunset from a beautiful Clicked at Kaza, Himachal Pradesh.#phoneonly
But every journey is enhanced by the number of challenges the traveler faces. It only serves to strengthen the resolve and whet the appetite to carry on. In such times, Trishita has felt the unconditional support of her family and friends, through thick and thin.
I’ll be your sunset, if you’ll be my silhouette! Shot using my GoPro Hero 5 Black
Trishita’ photographs indicate a mind that is most original and keen to explore the potential of all the moments she captures.
The unusual eye for detail, for uncommon details specifically, the toning of her clicks and as well, as the fantastic perspectives of her photographs are proof of her skill and talent, groomed through hard work over years.
It’s all about human emotions. A candid picture of a child with his grandmother during the #TripOfWonders for which I was invited to tour Indonesia.
Shot using Canon 1200D 🙂
She finds Food photography the most challenging as well as Conceptual photography to be the most creative. But admits,
‘I love taking travel and street pictures! Capturing the simplest and happiest moments on the go is what I live for! Instagram has been a life changer for me. From taking up Photography as a hobby and sharing my pictures on Instagram, I have grown in experience as well as numbers!’
A dog’s purpose. One of my favourites. A beautiful couple, a dog in the frame at the right time and Goa during monsoon. PERFECT!#phoneonly
She mostly uses editing software Adobe Lightroom to edit her pictures. She also uses phone applications like Snapseed and VSCO for minor editing!
Ballard Estate, my favourite area to shoot in Mumbai and my sister Tulika Bhattacharya (billie_jean_07) as the model. Shot using GoPro Hero 5 Black!
So what are the goals and plans of the @overrated_outcast, as her Instagram handle name goes:
I just graduated and right now I am brainstorming as to what I should do. But one thing that I know for myself is that I would like to do something in the field of photography or digital media! My dream is to pursue photography at the prestigious New York Film Academy!
a picture of these beautiful kids playing nearby! Clicked at Kaza, Himachal Pradesh.

We sure do know that the stars in her eyes are the ones which will shine on her path to the fulfillment of her dreams.
And yes, she has some wise words too-
My only advice to budding photographers is that create your own style. It’s always good to take some inspiration from others be it your peers or online on various social media channels, but don’t copy others.
True indeed, it is better to be unique than a mere imitation of someone whom you hold in esteem. Individuality is one of the most essential traits of an artist.
