I Am More Than Just A Thorn

“Sometimes your personal experiences make you feel awful and you feel lonely even amidst a crowd.  The negative and demotivating words from people leave a long lasting impact on you and make you feel unworthy!”

It may seem impossible to eradicate those depressing thoughts that disrupt your daily routine and throw you off balance. You begin to accept those remarks as ugly truths and see the flaws in yourself reflected in everything you do.

But why do we let this negativity consume our minds and dictate our thoughts??

Here’s a short and sweet poem by our Uncommon writer Aditi Priyadarshini which helps you to steer your mind away from negativity, bringing in loads of positivity that encourages you to move ahead in life.

I am a thorn whispering an undying story of your garden,
radiating silence after storm.
I am a thorn which perhaps isn’t wanted,
yet exists like a choice.
A thorn, losing every time they pluck that flower,
yet fighting for another one.
A thorn, hard and rough,
yet having traces of serenity.
A thorn selfless enough to give,
to give what belonged there.
A thorn never lonely,
A thorn you failed to understand,
A thorn darkening in the brightest sun,
A thorn you will never become.

This poem plays a perfect part in uplifting your mood, diluting your bitter thoughts and boosting your morale! The thorn may seem as unwanted but like the poet, The Uncommon Box wishes to emphasize that it’s important to realize your self-worth and have the courage to chase your dreams by never giving up in life!
