The human experience is such, that there is no measure of the intensity of emotions. The depth of emotions is only measured by the intensity of its expression- verbally or non-verbally.
Fifteen year old Shruti Gupta penned this poem about a moving experience of a girl, who lost the love she thought she had. She says that she ‘loves creations and believes in creating something new. I love to write and paint as well whenever I get some inspiration.’
MY STORY
A story near to my heart
Near to my life,
This is beautiful but sharp
As a knife.
It builds me and breaks me
Thousands of times,
But still that is the best story
Of my own fantasy life.
I still remember the moments
In which we were together,
Gazing at the stars and talking
About the dream!
We walked slowly into the streets,
That night was at its height.
We both felt shy,
It was very hard to say ‘GOOD BYE ‘!
but we had to…..
We wished,’ this night will never end!
Our feelings started to blend.
No one knows….
What comes and what goes,
We sat and began to look into
Each other’s eyes,
Everything seems so nice.
But whoever knew…
A storm was coming towards us
Within its own silent voice.
My eyes blinked and we fell apart
Suddenly, everything changed and
We never met.❣️
Credit goes to the sensitivity of this creative mind who envisioned this rather painful moment and put it into words in a way, everyone could relate to it. That is the power of poetry isn’t it?
